"We were blessed to have our son in Angela’s Leadership Scholar class this past semester. I’ve always loved reading to my children so we chose to read some of the books together, and what a cherished experience that was for our whole family! The booklist was 100% inspired. Each one sparked meaningful conversation both at home and in class, and we watched as our son grew in his ability to express himself verbally and in writing. As if all these things weren’t amazing enough … the scholars and mentors in this class are top notch! They welcomed our son with kindness and show such genuine love for God and their neighbor. I can’t wait to see what new heights we reach this year!" ~ Anna (Parent of students)
"This class has meant so much to me. It is more than receiving a prize for completing the work, but the feeling and discussions with others who are trying to figure things out as well. It has taught me to work hard, and to never give up when faced with the challenges of life. We are a chosen generation and God has created each of us to become leaders, this class has helped me to realize what kind of leader I can and want become."
~ Katie Marie, age 17
"This class is literally the best!
I'd never had a fun school class before, but by the end of the first day, I knew no class could ever compare to how fun and amazing this class was!
On the very first day I had a panic attack and begged my mom to let me stay home. By the end of that very same class day, I couldn't stop smiling and laughing! I don't think anybody could possibly not like this class. The second I walked into the door, I saw Angela's super bright blue eyes and happy smile and found myself smiling too.
The books Angela chooses are super awesome! Because of her class, I got to read the book "Kisses From Katie" by Katie Davis and every day I read, I wanted to serve people and be like Katie. Katie goes to Uganda and helps all the poor dying Ugandan kids and adults. She spends tons of time in Uganda and comes across a scripture saying something like: The sheep represent people who have helped others or contributed to the world in some way, while the goats represent those who have been unkind or selfish. That's definitely not word for word, but it made me feel strongly that I didn't want to be a goat. I got an overwhelming urge to serve others and to be a better person. None of that would've happened if Angela didn't "make us" read this and write an essay about it.
I loved how even though I didn't know anybody, they all treated me well and invited me in to hang out with them. The games Angela came up with were so amazing too! Even if the others didn't try to invite me in, the games Angela came up with require teamwork and quickly bonded all of us together. In general this class was just so involved and fun!!!"
~ Elise, age 14

"Angela’s Love of Learning class was a wonderful experience for our son! The love and enthusiasm she herself exudes is present in her home, family, and in these classes. I was impressed by how the children read books and studied subjects they were interested in, reported what they had learned each week, and were met with great encouragement by their peers. Angela’s lessons were faith-based, engaging, hands-on, and progressed thoughtfully throughout the semester. Recitations pushed the class to new heights, and time spent outside in the fresh air along with team building games rounded out the whole incredible experience. We can’t say enough about how amazing Angela is! Finding the Climb to Lead Academy was an answer to our prayers!" ~ Anna (Parent of students)
